As the anniversary comes close, all of us in Newtown, our country and the world, recall the terrible tragedy that occurred. The shooting in Newtown will long be remembered in all of our hearts, and the pain will subside but never be gone. Nor, should it be. The joy and love these children and adults brought to the world made it a better place. It surely will not be the same without them.
Yet, let us also remember the good that was extended throughout Sandy Hook and all of Newtown, as individuals, businesses, social services, the Town of Newtown, religious groups, and newly formed organizations reached out and did all they could to help one another. Too often, the closeness that people feel for one another after a tragedy is lost over time.
